Skiing in Northeastern PA? Stay at the Hilton Scranton Hotel by William Hauselberg

After a long day on the slopes, the Hilton Scranton Hotel offers great Pocono Mountains hotel rooms to the weary skier as well. The rooms and suites are of typical Hilton quality with each containing a king or two double beds, a color television, telephone, iron and ironing board, coffeemaker, data port and voicemail. There is wireless internet access offered in the hotel lobby and the business center is open all day.
When looking for a place to eat, make sure to check out the variety of dining options offered at the Hilton Scranton Hotel. They include the Trolley’s Bistro Restaurant for breakfast and lunch, dinner at Casey’s Corner, and PJ’s Pub to wind down after a long day.
If you are more interested in a workout, then head to the health club where there are elliptical machines, treadmills, a nautilus machine, free weights and bicycles. Afterwards, you could swim a few laps in the swimming pool or relax in the whirlpool.
Skiing isn’t the only thing to do while staying at the Hilton Scranton Hotel though; within walking distance of the hotel is the Mall at Steamtown, the Steamtown National Historic Site, and the University of Scranton. The area also tours of many of its unique locations, including the Lackawanna Coal Mine, the Steamtown National Historic Site, and “The Office” Tour of Scranton. Scranton also has is home to the Houdini Museum, the Electric City Trolley Museum, and the Pennsylvania Anthracite Heritage Museum. Depending on the time of year, you could always catch a Wilkes-Barre Scranton Baby Penguins hockey game, the minor league team of the Pittsburgh Penguins, or a Scranton Wilkes-Barre Yankees baseball game, the minor league team of the New York Yankees.
